The neverending can of worms

Hello Everybody!

Its been a while since my last blog so i thought it was about time i wrote something! Boy have we been busy!
It sounds sad but i have even been waking up in the middle of the night and just lying there thinking about the things to come in the next few months. After years of playing in a band i honestly don't think i have ever been this excited about the future. Its all i think about 24/7, its all i want to work on when i open the laptop and its all i talk to my girlfriend about when she gets home from work. I'm pretty certain the rest of the band are all the same.

You see, as a band we are in control of everything we do. We are arranging the recording, the release of our songs, all of our promotion, our video and all of our tour dates. In the 21st Century its so hard to get a band to be listened to, so although we are posting hundreds of status' on facebook and twitter its all for a good cause. We are genuinely grateful to everybody that has checked us out so far.

Without waffling on too much, i guess what i am trying to say is. Whatever we do, we can't do it without the support of all of you guys. If we did, it would be pointless. We would be releasing songs that nobody downloads, and doing tours that nobody attends.

SINGLE RELEASE
We are starting the recording of our first single this weekend. The recording is going to take a little bit of time, then we are filming a video to go with in it Early March. We will then be submitting it into TV stations such as Lava, Scuzz and Kerrang aswell as our youtube page. So hopefully with your support we can get it up on the telly! We will be confirming a release date soon but we have loosely penciled in May 1st as the day it all comes out! The song will be available for FREE streaming but there will also be some exclusive surprises that will allow people to download it for FREE 2 weeks before the release.

SUMMER TOUR
Because so many of you have been asking when we are touring and because we keep asking people ,if they would come and see us! We decided to start working on a summer tour. The dates are going to be between 16th - 20th August. We are attempting to cover a massive area of the UK in the 5 shows but if we can't get to your city we ask please try and get out to a neighboring city! It will be worth it!.
When it comes to the selection of the cities, we have a very nice surprise in store for you! Details coming soon..
Dates for the tour will be announced in Late April and tickets will go on sale in early May at the same time as our single release, the ticket prices will be super cheap and we will have great incentives for people that are bringing friends and people on the street team!

SPREAD THE WORD
Please help us out by keep spreading the word. If all of you just make 1 post a day about us it would help us so much. We want to thank you all for your support so far, because of you we have the motivation and ambition to make music and travel.

Keep in touch with us on facebook and twitter.

Much Love

New Drummer - New Start - New Year!

Hey everybody!

Hope your all feeling well and ready for Xmas! I think as i write this we have been very lucky in the town of Swadlincote to have had no snow yet this week! It was still -9 degrees this morning though!

We do have a bit of news to tell you about, things have been a little "quiet" from us in terms of the output of the band. We have had a few hurdles to overcome.

Firstly we need to announce that Aidan has now left the band. He was finding the strain of a Full Time Uni course, 2nd job and 2 bands a little bit too much so we couldn't push the band forward as much as we would of liked. He was an absolute machine for trying it though and we will remain good friends and wish him the best of luck in the future!

Secondly, we are delighted to introduce you to our new drummer Tom Bradshaw-Smith who we are really excited to have on board. We have already rehearsed together and well lets just say things "clicked" into place. We are already working on the live set and are excited to be rehearsing new songs.

It looks like our live debut is gonna commence with a local show at the end of march 2011, followed by 3-4 UK shows in April and some European shows in the summer. We are really excited about that. Recording will go ahead as planned at Prism Studios, Stoke at the end of Jan.

Also just want to thank Tom and Stephen at Arch Recording, Burton for hooking us up with some brand spanking new rehearsel space and making us feel welcome. We are really looking forward to rehearsing and recording there for a long time!

So yeah i think thats all for now! Enjoy your xmas shopping!
I hope Santa doesn't get stuck on the M1!

We are delighted to be heading back to Prism Studios, Stoke to work with our old friend Shaun Lowe (Sting, Sash, The Drifters etc) to record the final version of our first single "Second Nature" . We are delighted to say we are going to be recording a video to go with it! We are still in the planning stages with this one but we are hoping it will be done and dusted before the end of feb! You will be able to see it on youtube and hopefully on some TV channels by the end of march!!

Tour!
Its cool to see that quite a few of you are already asking us to play in your town! We are going to be limited on how many shows we can do. Will probably be 4 UK shows plus 1 or 2 in europe! We are going to try and play in the best places so that most people can get to 1 show! Please please please try to come out and bring some friends to party with us!

"Second Nature" DEMO and other stuff

Hi Guys,
So after a fun and stressful week we are now uploading our first demo track for the song "Second Nature".
We all want to say a massive thanks to everybody that has helped us. Rich @ Abbey Lane Studios, Derby for recording the drum track, Andy Forster for his help with the drums and Alastair Hair for Recording and producing the demo.

I must stress, this is only a DEMO track its not the finished article, but it gives people a good idea where we are going with the sound.

We all hope you enjoy the track, we will be recording more demos in the near future and are aiming to play some live shows after xmas.

Please give us your feedback and help to spread the word!!!

The start of something special - Blog from Rich

Hey,
Welcome to our first blog! Its 08:36 in the morning and im already up with Sonic Boom Six blasting out LOUD. Firstly i would like to thank everybody that has added us on Facebook and Twitter for their support! We havent even posted a single note of us playing yet over 200 people have added us!

This week to get the ball rolling we will be posting a demo track up at 7PM (GMT) on SAT 6TH NOV - thats right its just before xfactor so theres no excuse not to give it a listen!

Follow You Home has been in the making for a while. My brother was jamming with another band and they needed a bass player to fill in for a while. I went and jammed with them a few times along with a good friend of mine from my school days "Nick Ayre". After a while we decided that the band wasn't going to plan so we all decided to leave it there.

I had previously been in a band called "3 STOREYS HIGH" for the last 8 years but when that had come to end i had told myself that my time playing music was over. I guess after 8 years of putting everything i could into a band had taken its toll. The other 3SH guys wanted to try something new so started a new band and i had lost faith in the whole thing.

Without meaning to have a dig at anybody i think that being in a band can also be a dangerous thing. People that start out as good friends eventually become nothing more than "business colleagues" very easily. There is most definately a fine line and while im thankful that i was able to tour places like Japan, China and Europe and support some of our idols, my over riding feeling at the end of 3SH is that it ended up as a business not a band!

What was nice about this year though was that after 18 months apart we were able to get together and learn how to be friends again and play 1 last show. Anyway lets talk about FYH!

Follow You Home came about after Nick and I had a few acoustic sessions at my house. I had never really wrote too many songs myself but jamming with Nick just felt really natural. It wasn't long before we were both coming up with melodies and lyrics just came straight away. Nick really restored my faith in music and from then on i was really excited to play the songs we had written in a band format!

I already knew that my brother Mikey was really keen to be in a band and had previously become frustrated playing drums when he prefers guitar so we recruited him straight away, and through a friend we got in touch with Aidan to play drums. After a few jams we realised the chemistry was there, it was just a case of finding a talented singer that fit in with what we were writing. After a while looking a trying out various people Kayley turned up to audition and blew us away - she was the missing piece of the Jigsaw.

I know im ranting on and i dont want this blog to be too long and get boring but what im getting at is :-
This band is about playing music with friends, its not about getting some shit together to make money or sell records. We want people to hear us and enjoy our music and eventually come to our shows. Thats all that matters. Im really excited to try some new concepts out too but what i want is a personal connection with people. I wanted to be a part of a band that will connect with fans and people that support them and i really feel like we have that!

Its going to be an exciting future, im not saying our music is going to change the world.
But its certainly going to change our world!

Rich - FYH
